Porter-Gaud School is an Episcopal, independent, coeducational day school with 980 students in grades 1 -12. Porter-Gaud also includes a pre-school, The O'Quinn Schools of Porter-Gaud, on two separate campuses serving 620 students in 2-year old through 5K programs. Porter-Gaud School is searching for a Helpdesk Support Specialist (Specialist) for a full-time, 12-month position with the school. The School can be flexible about a start date for this position, which would be no earlier than May 1, 2019.
Responsibilities for this position include:
The School seeks a Specialist who is innovative, team oriented and highly organized to work in our technology department to support the faculty, staff, administration, and students in advancing their use of technology.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing technology support and repair for our iPad 1:1 program in grades 1-8
- Manage iPad break/fix procedure and inventory for school iPads
- Work with department to fully utilize the schools Jamf Pro Mobile Device Management (MDM) system to manage Apps and iPads.
- Collaborate with Technology Department to manage, assign, and respond to the incoming requests on the campus helpdesk system in a timely manner. This includes requests from faculty, staff and student hardware, software and password issues across all devices.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Work with K-12 teachers to proactively monitor classroom and meeting space AV installations to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Ensure that the faculty and staff have a thorough understanding of the technology tools available to them through training and other methods.
- Help evaluate emerging technologies and their relevance to each department.
- Assume other duties as necessary and assigned by the IT Director.
Requirements for this position:
- B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university
- 1 – 3 years' experience, preferably in an academic environment
- Strong technical skills
- Strong understanding of Apple and Windows products
- Ability to work well in a group or team environment
- An understanding of computer networks and security
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An understanding of databases, preferably school databases
- Strong understanding of G Suite and other Google products
- Good work ethic and positive attitude, with the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality with sensitive school and student data
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
