Second graders are studying the history of Charleston. This week, they took a tour of one of the oldest synagogues in the United States (1794), Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE). The students learned about Charleston's Jewish culture and community. A special treat for the students was a collection of oral histories shared by Mrs. Wey's mom, Rhetta Mendelsohn, Randi Serrins, Anita Rosenberg and Rabbi Greg Kanter.
