Happy St. Patrick's Day
Our very own third graders marched in Charleston's St. Patrick's Day Parade. Check out these pictures from the route!
Mrs. Evans's fourth graders practiced mapping skills discovering where the Leprechaun was hiding in Shamrock Park. Some of the Leprechauns worked a little magic with special gold coins.

National Honor Choir
Fifth graders, Sarah Grace Champagne, Aidan Damsker, Gray Holland, Renny Miles, and Ella Murphy traveled to Minneapolis, Minnesota with their parents and teacher, Mr. Monsell to take part in the American Choral Directors' Association National Honor Choir. This highly select choir of 300 students from across the USA rehearsed for three days with noted director Dr. Joan Gregory and then performed two performances at Minneapolis's Orchestra Hall and Convention Center Auditorium. The students sang pieces in Latin, Hungarian, Russian, German, and English. Congratulations to these talented students!
Chinese Lessons
Our second grade students are busy learning how to talk about clothing in Chinese. Their learning is enhanced in class by making paper clothing.
Faculty vs. Student Basketball Game
The whole school had a blast at this year's Faculty vs. Student Basketball Game. On Tuesday, students dressed down for two dollars and everyone's ticket to the game was a non-perishable food item. All food and money raised go to support our Easter Food Drive.
Force and Motion
Last Friday, fifth graders were introduced to force & motion using PE equipment. Coach Engelhardt and Coach Brown set up 4 different activities in the gym. Students were asked to identify manipulated and responding variables, forces, and action/reaction pairs. The students enjoyed this movement-based preview of their upcoming science unit of study!
Boxcar Children
In first grade, students have been hard at work on projects based on the Boxcar Children book series.
Happy Pi Day
Fourth and fifth graders celebrated Pi Day while discovering how to find the diameter, the radius, and the circumference of a variety of circles. They also enjoyed a wonderful story about Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi
and shared a yummy round treat!

Our Second Grade Sailors of the Week invited special guest readers to their classrooms.
Tiny House
Students in Mrs.Greer's second grade reading class finished reading The Borrowers by Mary Morton this week. To learn about perspective, they built the home of the teeny characters in the book. Check out our three bedroom home for Arrietty, Pod and Homily!
The Westing Game
Is it a book? A game? Or so much more? The Westing Game kept third grade students in Mrs. Greer's class guessing every single page as they solved this murder mystery. Check out the web they made connecting the characters and using the clues Mr. Westing gave them. Read this book to find out the guilty culprit!
Conventions and Board Games!
When fifth graders are excited for Spring Break but still need to focus on conventions, what do you do? Play board games, of course! Mrs. DeVos's convention games had students reviewing common & proper nouns; past, present, & future verbs; and similes.
Virtues Lunch
It was time for Mrs. Boccabella's class and Mrs. Conrad's class to celebrate our Virtues with a special lunch this week. Thank you to all of the parents who helped put it together!
